Phases of Love

Women know the feeling.  You become all giddy when he’s around.  You can’t wait to see him.  You constantly think about him.  There’s no doubt about it, you’ve fallen in love. 

But as the saying goes, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.  Men do not necessarily get all the lovey-dovey emotions that women do when they have fallen.
They fall in love much differently.

Some believe men fall in love in phases.  I like to explain that it happens in four different stages.
 
First thing first, he sees you and immediately wants you. Men fall in love with their eyes first. When a woman has learned to put her heart first, ahead of any man, it causes her to radiate confidence. Even though men can't describe this quality, they always recoginize it a woman. Even though they believe the attraction is purely physcial it is more than that. The quality that a few special woman have causes men to feel the hot for you feeling. But don’t get ahead of yourself. At this stage they are just infatuated. It is all hormones at this stage in the game.

Once you’ve been out a couple times, if he feels there is a connection, he’ll pull out all the stops.  He’ll bring flowers and send text messages.  With the gifts and special attention he's reinforcing that wonderful hormonal high he’s feeling.  I like to warn women, if he seems a little hot and cold during this period it’s normal.  He’s probably just starting to think about and fear rejection.  The best thing you can do is reinforce the connection between the two of you.

In phase three, expect more of that hot and clod behavior as he is really starting to get confused.  You are officially dating at this point and getting closer and closer.  Guys start to worry that they're not ready to commit especially when they see that you are.  Some of those hormones are fading and he's not feeling quite as passionate.  So he'll pick a fight. It’s happened to the best of us… you have a great few days together, then all the sudden he disappears.  Women – at this stage just chill.  Let him figure out what he wants and hopefully this will move him along to the last phase.

In the last step of this falling in love process, the infatuation turns into love.  He's happy!  He likes watching TV with you.  He loses his fear of rejection and commitment and just goes for it.
